Son-in-Laws (Dylan)

Son-in-laws come into your life when they marry your daughter. You have raised this beautiful girl, who you have loved, cared for and nurtured her entire life. With every fiber of your being, you pray that she will marry someone wonderful and kind, that will love and take care of her the way you have. And then one day, you meet that man.

I got real lucky! Dylan is a great guy who I have a great relationship with.

Meet Dylan Trunnell Powell.
Born 7 November 1977.
Occupation: Physician's Assistant.
Loves the outdoors & loves to fish.

When I first met Dylan in Logan, Utah, I knew Natalie would marry him. She was very young and attending college at Utah State. He had just returned from his mission. He seemed very shy, but very kind.

As time went on, Natalie accepted a position in Washington D.C.
They were planning their wedding and Dylan came to live with our family in Naperville, IL. I became his second mom.

Dylan knew I loved plants, particularly hostas. For Mother's Day that year, 2001, he bought these for me and called them "hosta wanna-bes". This is one of the most thoughtful gifts I ever received !

Dylan was thrilled to be living with the Shanes, without Natalie. Yeah, right ! Dad was determined to teach him how to work! (Like he didn't know how ! :)

Natalie returned home after a bit. He got an instant family !

Dylan was a good sport. He let us tag along when he got fitted for his suit for the wedding.

This is the night before the wedding, July 2001. He was happy to have his mom and Aaron, his best friend with him for the big event. He learned in order to get Natalie, Stephanie came long with the deal! That's still true today !!!

Dylan's a good guy. He's very laid back and has a keen sense of humor. I love to play board games with him.

Dylan goes on Shane family outings, even when they are not that much fun. Here we are at Shark Valley in Florida. We like to call it: "the day from Hell", Sept. 15, 2007. It was ridiculously HOT !

Dylan just kind of goes along to get along. That's a good attitude to have. :)

Sometimes he just lets out his real feelings !

Dylan is a good husband and a good father. He promised me on their wedding day that he would take care of my girl. He's doing a wonderful job.

I love you Big "D" !!!
