Son-in-Laws, part II, Brad

I have been very blessed. I have two sons and two son-in-laws. Do you know what that means? Well, I'll tell you - twice the fun ! I've told you about Dylan, now let me tell you about Brad.

Meet Bradley Bateman Hunter, affectionately known as: BBH, B-rad or, my personal favorite , "Saint Brad".

Brad is married to Lu. We have known Brad since he was twelve. He & Stephanie grew up together- attended school, church & seminary together. They dated briefly before her mission. He was with her when she received her mission call to the California Riverside Mission in March of 2004.

Brad served a mission in Denmark. He waited for Stephanie as she served her mission in California. Upon her return, they were married 6 months later.

Brad is so easy to be around. He is always happy and willing to participate. Here the sons & son-in-laws pulled a funny on dad. On Christmas morning (in Florida), they all appeared in one of dad's silky shirts. :)

Brad has many interests and hobbies. He loves to fish. He landed this large mouth bass one night at midnight here in Florida.

Brad loves to play the guitar. Here he has a captive audience. Danny & Chaya love their Uncle Brad.

Brad has many personal traits that I admire. He is kind, gentle, polite, and a true gentleman. Did I mention handsome?

These three bad boys always have something up their sleeve!

Brad would do anything for Stephanie! Here he is in Sanibel pulling her Highness through a shallow part on the kayaking trail. Natalie & I always remind her how lucky she is.

Brad has a way with kids. They LOVE him ! Here he is with Squish in Chicago, May 2009.

This little story illustrates Brad's good nature. In May, the 3 Shane women plus the bubba's (Natalie's 2 little boys) convened in Chicago for a week of fun. One morning we were all kind of doing our thing in their condo-everyone eating something different for breakfast, not a sit down kind of affair. Brad decided to put some steel cut oats on to cook for his own little breakfast. He was following the directions to a "T", simmering those oats right along. These were NOT the Quick oats that cook in one minute. He was babying those oats and waiting in great anticipation for a hearty meal. I wanted an english muffin, but they were gone. Brad quickly offered me his steel cut oats. "No thank you" I said. I wouldn't dream of taking his breakfast away after I had watched his careful preparation. (I am not a fan of oatmeal anyway). So, they finally were done cooking. He put them in a bowl with a little milk I believe and some brown sugar or such. He is finally ready to enjoy his meal! At that moment, Bradoc (almost 3) comes by and says: "hey, I want some oatmeal!" (Bradoc had already had a bowl of oatmeal. I know, because I made it for him!) Brad says: "You do? " He gets up and puts "B" on his stool and gladly forfeits his oatmeal ! I couldn't believe it! But, that's Brad. We have affectionately dubbed him: "Saint Brad".

Brad is very patient. His two strong arms are perfect for toting little nephews. Bradoc, Brad, Squish, May 2009. Chicago.

Behind every good woman is a good man! Brad was there to support Lu at the completion of the Chicago Marathon last Sunday. He even ran the last few miles with her.

We love Brad to be with us. He is a perfect addition to our family.

We love to be with the Hunters. We would love for Stef & Brad to move to So. Florida. In the meantime, we are always ready for fun in the sun.
Sanibel Island, April 2009.

P.S. BBH ~ I love you !
