a week in the life...
it's been a most eventful week here in so. florida. i met "bob" in the grocery store in sanibel. next thing i knew, he was asking me out to go get a cocktail. bob is 87. just my luck!!!
the weather has been outrageously beautiful. yesterday @ 6:30 a.m., before the sun came up, it was 80 degrees! every day that passes, and we get a little closer to winter, i am reminded of why we love so. florida!

we visited the gardens in coral gables where they were displaying scarecrows. i love the fall and everything about it.

i have spent a good amount of time on my bike this week. most days i rode about 40 miles.
on tuesday, "dipper" celebrated her thirtieth birthday!!! here she is on her first sharing her cake with me.

the foliage has been spectacular!

fall festivities are everywhere!

i loved when we used to put a scarecrow in our yard.

my garden has been thriving with the somewhat cooler temperatures.

everywhere else in the country, gardeners are pulling their impatiens out & putting them in the compost pile. here it is time to plant impatiens and new guinea impatiens as well.

my garden is a happy place!
on a sad note, my little friend silvia passed away last evening. she was 102. she led a long and beautiful life. she was such a lady. she dressed like she is in this photo every day, come rain or shine.
