for my birthday, dad and i headed for our very favorite place.
sanibel island!
we stayed in a little cottage @ the blue dolphin. our cottage was on the beach.

dad served up my favorite breakfast on the beach. yep! you got it. brownie bites and a diet coke :)
the beach was literally ours. no one to be seen. just the dollar & me!
must have been my lucky day!
i found the pot of gold at the rainbow's end!
a generous gift certificate to my favorite island jewelry store :)
we had a nice dinner at an italian eatery.
the next two days we spent on the water.
it was rather glorious. we saw dolphin feeding, most of my favorite birds, baby shark, giant stingray, snook and more. i even caught a flounder!
a little tradition we have~ dq on the way home for blizzards.
it was a very nice birthday. dad really out did himself :)

yes! fash did out do himself! he's an all-star! and he needs about 20 more ice cream cones to put more meat on his bones. it looked like a fabulous time! glad you have a happy birthday!
the boys loved looking at all the pictures of the beach and especially the one of papa in his kayak fishing! dad really knocked it out da park this year!!! what a great way to spend your birthday!!
